Selection

To select a (large) number of nodes or members in one go you can use 'Select window' or 'Select crossing'.

This works in exactly the same way as you may know it from AutoCAD, among others.

You draw a "window" from left to right. You draw a "crossing" from right to left.

Select window (from bottom left to top right)

  1. Determine with the mouse the starting point of the selection window to be drawn. This is the left corner of the window to be drawn.
  2. Press the left mouse button.
  3. While you keep the left mouse button pressed, move the mouse to the right. A window is drawn in (partly transparent) blue.
  4. When you then release the left mouse button, all nodes and members that lie completely within this window are selected.

Select crossing (from top right to bottom left)

  1. Determine with the mouse the starting point of the selection window to be drawn. This is the right corner of the window to be drawn.
  2. Press the left mouse button.
  3. While you keep the left mouse button pressed, move the mouse to the left. A window is drawn in (partly transparent) green.
  4. When you then release the left mouse button, all nodes that lie completely within this window and all members that lie partly within this window are selected.

Multi select

To select several nodes or members you use the CTRL key or the SHIFT key.

With the CTRL key or the SHIFT key pressed, you 'draw' the selection window as described above.
